 1. Preparations before cable repair work

The cable names nameplates must be checked in detail. Only after the safety measures are correct reliable start working.


2.Precautions in cable repair work


The cables to be repaired must be confirmed during work. The cables to be repaired can be divided into 2 types:


(1) Cables with terminal head faults obvious fault points on the surface of the cable body. This type of faulty cable has obvious fault signs is easy to confirm.


(2) There is no cable exposed on the cable surface. For this kind of faulty cable, in addition to checking the information verifying the cable name, you must also identify it with a cable identifier to distinguish it other live cables in operation, especially when there are many cables in the same section. It is particularly important to distinguish between cables that need servicing other live cables. At the same time, this can also effectively prevent accidents caused by incorrectly disconnected live cables due to mislabeled cable labels. The sawed cable must have reliable safety protection measures. Before sawing the cable, it must be confirmed that the cable needs to be cut the cable has no power, then the grounding iron nail with a wooden handle (easy to use epoxy handle) is inserted into the cable core before working. Persons with wooden handles should wear insulating gloves stand on insulating mats. Special care should be taken to ensure that the iron brazing is well grounded. If you need to move the cable during work, you should be careful to be rough, to prevent damage to other cables in operation. The cable head must be installed according to the technical requirements to ensure the quality without leaving any hidden dangers. After the cable is repaired, the phases of the two ends of the cable should be carefully checked. The original phase mark is removed first, then the correct phase mark is put on to prevent confusion between the new old phases.


3.Precautions during high voltage test


The high-voltage test of cables should strictly abide by the “Safety Working Regulations of the Electrical Industry”. Even in the case of poor working conditions on site, the safety requirements cannot be reduced in the slightest. The division of labor must be clear, safety precautions should be arranged in detail. The test site shall be provided with enclosed barriers fences, a "stop, high voltage danger!" Signboard shall be hung outwards, guarded. In particular, the other end of the cable must be guarded communication must be kept open to prevent emergencies. The test device wiring should meet the safety requirements, the operation must be standardized. Attention should be focused during the test, the operator should stand on the insulation pad. When changing the line the end of the test, first disconnect the test power, discharge, short-circuit the high-voltage part of the high-voltage equipment to ground. During the high-voltage DC test, the cable should be discharged to the ground several times short-circuited to ground after each paragraph at the end of the test, before the cable can be touched.


4. Other precautions for cable repair


When opening the cable well cable trench cover, measures should be taken to prevent traffic accidents. Fences should be arranged around the well, obvious warning signs should be provided, obstacles to prevent accidental entry of vehicles should be set up. At night, the cable well should be illuminated to prevent pedestrians vehicles falling into the well. Before entering the cable well, turbid gas in the well should be eliminated. Workers in the well shall wear safety helmets take measures such as fire prevention, waterproofing protection against falling objects at high altitudes. The wellhead shall be specially guarded.
